Attic insulation services in South Florida

SFL Attic is a guide run by Terragroupe, LLC. We do not install anything and we are not booking jobs yet.

This site covers blown-in insulation, spray foam, removal of old insulation and radiant barrier. Most South Florida homes with a thin layer start with blown-in. Measuring your attic shows which job, or which mix, it needs.

How to size up your attic

  1. Take the Attic Heat Score. Answer a few questions about your home. You get a score and the reasons behind it. It is a starting point, and the Attic Heat Score page shows what it is based on.
  2. Know what a good check covers. A good attic check records the type of insulation, its depth in inches and photos of problem spots. Use that list when you talk to any installer.
  3. Ask for a written price. Ask for the scope, the product, the installed R-value and the price in writing. Nothing should start until you say yes.
  4. Compare and decide. Use the cost guide to compare quotes. If your attic already has enough insulation, you may not need work.
  5. See the finished job. Ask for photos and a depth reading after the work, so you can see the result.

Which service fits your attic?

Start with what you see and feel. Many homes need one of these, and some need a mix.

Why a measured attic comes first

The right job depends on what is in your attic today: the type, the depth, the moisture and the roof above it. Home age is a clue, not proof. We found no survey of real attic R-values by year built, so we do not guess.

Start by finding out what you have. Then ask for a written price, so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.

Rules, rebates and prices

Each service page explains the Florida energy code, permits and the FPL rebate rules that touch that job, with the source next to every figure.

For prices side by side, see the cost guide. Ranges there come from named national guides, not South Florida quotes.

Questions people ask

Which attic service should I start with?

For most homes with a thin layer and an open floor, start with blown-in insulation. If you are unsure, run the Attic Heat Score and find your depth in inches.

Who handles asbestos or vermiculite insulation?

A licensed asbestos professional. If you think your attic has vermiculite or asbestos, stop and do not disturb it. That is licensed abatement work, and none of these services cover it. See the attic insulation removal page.

Can I combine services?

Yes. Removal followed by new insulation is common. Some homes add a radiant barrier to a thin layer. Ask for one written scope that covers the whole job.
